Hosting is carried out for the purpose of fulfilling our contract with our potential and existing visitors (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast and efficient provision of our online offering by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where appropriate consent has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG, insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information on the user's device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent may be revoked at any time.
Our provider will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfil its service obligations and will follow our instructions with regard to this data.
For further information, please refer to STRATO's privacy policy: https://www.strato.de/datenschutz/.
Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

General Notes on the Legal Bases for Data Processing on This Website
If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR where special categories of data are processed pursuant to Art. 9(1) GDPR. In the event of explicit consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing also takes place on the basis of Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or to access to information on your device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), data processing additionally takes place on the basis of § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be revoked at any time. Where your data is required for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data where this is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. Data processing may also take place on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The relevant legal bases applicable in each individual case are set out in the following sections of this privacy policy.
Recipients of Personal Data
In the course of our business activities we work with various external parties. This sometimes requires the transfer of personal data to those external parties. We only share personal data with external parties where this is necessary for the performance of a contract, where we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. disclosure of data to tax authorities), where we have a legitimate interest in sharing pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or where another legal basis permits the transfer. When using processors, we only share personal data of our customers on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. Where joint processing takes place, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You may revoke any consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of data processing carried out prior to revocation remains unaffected.
Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases and to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
WHERE DATA PROCESSING IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT, ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THOSE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS FOUNDED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING THAT OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(1) GDPR).
WHERE YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSES OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority
In the event of breaches of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged breach. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract, in a commonly used, machine-readable format, delivered to you or to a third party. Where you request the direct transfer of data to another controller, this will only be done to the extent technically feasible.
Access, Rectification and Erasure
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to obtain free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of data processing, and, where applicable, the right to have this data corrected or deleted. You are welcome to contact us at any time with questions about this or any other matter relating to personal data.
Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data. You may contact us at any time to do so. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following circumstances:
- If you contest the accuracy of your personal data held by us, we generally need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was or is being carried out unlawfully, you may request restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
- If we no longer need your personal data but you require it for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, you have the right to request restriction of processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
- If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balancing of your interests and ours must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
Where processing of your personal data has been restricted, such data may — apart from being stored — only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.
SSL/TLS Encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content — such as enquiries you send to us as the site operator — this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address bar of your browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the padlock icon in your browser bar.
When SSL or TLS encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
4. Data Collection on This Website
Cookies
Our website uses so-called "cookies". Cookies are small data packets that do not cause any harm to your device. They are stored either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted when you end your visit. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Cookies may originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing analytics services).
Cookies serve various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them. Other cookies may be used to analyse user behaviour or for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions you have requested, or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies for measuring web audiences) — so-called necessary cookies — are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies to ensure the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Where consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of that consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG); consent may be revoked at any time.
You can set your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies and to allow cookies only on a case-by-case basis, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally, and to activate automatic deletion of cookies when you close the browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.
You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.
Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits to us automatically. These are:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website — for this purpose, server log files must be recorded.
Newsletter
Newsletter Data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use newsletter service providers to handle our newsletters, which are described below.
Mailchimp
This website uses the services of Mailchimp for sending newsletters. The provider is Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
Mailchimp is a service that can be used, among other things, to organise and analyse newsletter campaigns. When you enter data for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter (e.g. your email address), it is stored on Mailchimp's servers in the USA.
With the help of Mailchimp, we are able to analyse our newsletter campaigns. When you open an email sent via Mailchimp, a file contained in the email (known as a web beacon) connects to Mailchimp's servers in the USA. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, were clicked. In addition, technical information is recorded (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be attributed to the individual newsletter recipient. It is used solely for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to tailor future newsletters more closely to the interests of recipients.
Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The lawfulness of data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or our newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter, and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/data-processing-addendum/.
After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist, if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used solely for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not subject to a time limit. You may object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
5. Analytics Tools and Advertising
Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. The website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, dwell time, operating systems used, and the user's origin. This data may be assigned by Google to a user ID or compiled into a profile associated with the respective user.
Google Analytics uses technologies that enable recognition of the user for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be revoked at any time.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.
Browser Add-on for Disabling Google Analytics
You can prevent Google from collecting and processing your data by downloading and installing the browser add-on available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities in connection with the use of Google Analytics.
6. Plugins and Tools
Google Fonts
This page uses so-called Google Fonts, provided by Google, to ensure a consistent display of typefaces. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and typefaces correctly.
For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Google's servers. This enables Google to learn that this website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Fonts is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the consistent presentation of its typefaces.
If your browser does not support Google Fonts, a default font from your computer will be used.
Further information about Google Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
7. External Links to Social Networks
This website includes only simple hyperlinks to our profiles on social networks (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn). These are not active social media plug-ins. Data is only transmitted to the operators of the social networks when you actively click on the relevant link and are redirected to the platform. The respective provider is responsible for any subsequent data processing on the platforms.
