A place for everyone
Over the coming five years, spaces for encounter and exchange will take shape here — with a particular focus on bridging the divide between city and countryside. Studio Wandlitz is open to all, and especially to those who want to get involved in building community.
History since 1976
The history of the studio stretches back to 1976, the year the first building on the site was constructed. It originally housed a metalworks; over time, offices for a pipe-cleaning company, a scaffolding firm and a showroom for bathrooms and pools were added.
Today's uses carry the spirit of the earlier ones forward: where stair railings were once fabricated, works of art are now created. Where bathroom fittings and whirlpools were once on display, artists now present paintings, prints and sculptures. The former offices are being transformed into modern spaces for collaborative work. In this way, Studio Wandlitz builds a bridge between old and new enterprise.
